Final Blogging Task

Evaluation Question 4

What have you learnt from audience feedback?

After the cinema screening of watching all of the music video’s, we took time out to ask the audience for feedback of what they thought and any improvements they would've liked to see. We were at a major advantage as the people who we asked fitted our target audience; young teens/adults.

After recieving feedback from the audience i could see how we could of changed our product in relationt ot he feedback. The audience thought the mise-en scene and locations worked really well with our genre and artist. However many people thought that the performance from the artist could have been better. They thought that she wasn't moving around enough and looked slightly uncomfortable. Some of the comments were also to do with the camera work they thought that there was not enough movement in the camera. To prevent this i think we could have done more base tracks and possibly more 360 shots.

Another thing which the we got in our feedback was with the storyline they were expecting more towards the end of the video. They did not see a solution at the end, this is understandable because we initially planned to finish it with both the artist and actor facing each other. However we did not have enough time to do this in editing and finished the video by rewinding it.

Overall from the audience feedback i would say that our planning really payed of because the they thought our mise en scene, location, costume and narrative were the strongest thing in our video. The setting and location was really planned because we wanted an urban feel to our video to go with the genre of dubstep. Even though i am really happy with our product after hearing the audience feedback was vital and i could have changed these things. We could have used more dubstep elements like more stronger edits and also a bit of filter to make it obvious that it is in dubstep genre. If we had done this it would of went more with our ancillary work. I am still very happy with our final product but at least now i can see where the improvements were needed.

Final Blogging Task!

It's all over!
After months of blogging, research, planning, production and so on; I've finally completed everything. Although this was a fun experience it has also been a very stressful and challenging one. Seeing our music video on the big screen and hearing the audience reaction was probably the best part of the course for me. Overall I feel as though I have learnt a whole load of new things, it has been a good couple of months filled with hard work!
