Pitch Q4: Influences For Final Planning

Where did you gt your ideas for your video from? You must refer to existing videos that have influenced your choices.

Before deciding on an initial plan for our video we listed some concepts/transitions we liked or wanted to include in our video. We then looked for existing videos for influence in the same genre as ours that used these concepts:
  •          Close ups/side shots/low and high shots
  •          Match cuts
  •          Split screen
  •         Slow motion
  •          Mirror reflection
  •          Dark lighting creating shadows
  •          Flashing/fast shots
  •          180/360
  •      Blur/out of focus
These are only some of the videos we looked for as for influence:

The concept of fast forwarding and rewinding is something that we want to incorporate into out work. As a group we feel that because our choice of song is quite up-beat the fast forwarding rewinding would compliment it very well and would set the pace of our music video. Also it is a way of showing the variety of technical skills we have picked up. The mise en scene in the video, especially consume is another thing we want to interpret in our own way as we already know that our artist will be dressed in very casual-every day wear relating to the target audience.

The use of repeated shots and base tracks is another thing that stood out that we may want to use in our own remake. Also they way they promote the artists making it obvious who the main focus is by showing close up's and parts of her face.

The use of split screen and editing is a very interesting aspect that could work with this genre of music because of the pace and they way we interpret it.
